Stance by Koufax Hurts Only Dodgers

I completely agree with T.J. Simers’ comment that Sandy Koufax’s reaction to the Post gossip column is a huge overreaction.
All of Murdoch’s publications are sleazy. But to take it out on the Dodgers and their players -- players he has helped develop -- is ridiculous. Sandy’s not coming to Vero Beach only hurts the Dodgers’ coaches and players with whom he is friends and with whom he has no problems.
It certainly doesn’t hurt Rupert Murdoch, who couldn’t care less about the Dodgers. I wonder if he even knows he owns them.

Murdoch just doesn’t get it, or does he? His “apology” was toothless, for it didn’t address the recklessness of the Post’s reporting. It didn’t explain why it happened, nor did it address the possibility that it might happen again. It does nothing to assure the public that it can read the Post with confidence in the future.

If I were somebody famous and a rumor arose that I was secretly Jewish and I “vehemently denied” it, I wonder how Sandy Koufax would feel about me.

Two points regarding the Sandy Koufax story:
1. I think it is beneath him
2. Methinks he protests too much.
