Pedestrian Is Hit By Pickup, Killed in Westminster

A pedestrian was struck by a pickup and killed in Westminster on Tuesday night as she jaywalked across a busy intersection, police said.
Debra Sue Rice, 44, was crossing a no-pedestrian zone at Goldenwest Street near Hazard Avenue about 8:45 p.m. when she was hit, said Westminster Police Sgt. Tom Broderson. She was pronounced dead at Huntington Beach Hospital, he said.
The driver, Adam Leitch, 23, of Huntington Beach, was not injured or cited. An investigation was continuing.
