Neighborhoods Chosen for Transit Study
Transit planners Wednesday picked neighborhoods in Covina, North Hollywood and around Wilshire Boulevard for a study on the effects of development around transit stops.
The study, commissioned by a partnership between the MTA and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, will look at how the creation of more housing and businesses around existing rail stations could alter demographics, jobs and transit use.
The study will serve as a guide for development around transit stations countywide.
Results of the study, to be conducted by a Portland-based planning firm, will be released in September.
