Vaccinations Offered to Help Fight Monkeypox

State health officials offered smallpox vaccinations to people who have been in contact with animals or other people infected with monkeypox.
Herb Bostrom, director of the state Bureau of Communicable Diseases, did not release figures on how many were eligible.
Monkeypox, a West African disease not previously seen in the Western Hemisphere, causes rashes, chills and fever.
