Man Gets 10-Month Term in Bribery Case

A businessman was sentenced to 10 months in jail this week after pleading guilty to conspiracy and bribery in helping rig contracts at a U.S. Army base.
Joseph Kang Hur, 57, was convicted of acting as a “consultant” on a contract awarded to two South Korean businessmen at Yongsan Army Base in South Korea.
The businessmen were awarded the contracts in exchange for $850,000 in bribes to Col. Richard James Moran, 56.
Moran was sentenced Monday to 4 1/2 years in prison. His wife, Gina Cha Moran, 45, received two years’ probation.
