See it, touch it

The Coy Howard-designed Art of the Cup: the Ellen Palevsky Collection at LACMA is, to my eye, the loveliest space at the museum. Elegant and self-contained, it reflects the subtle sophistication of Howard’s work and the masterful techniques of Terry Sutherland’s wood craft. The scale and choice of color are in perfect sympathy with the cups and their details, and elements of the room give you the chance to experience the rich tactile nature of their art.
