HOB Restructures Concerts Division

HOB Entertainment Inc. restructured its House of Blues Concerts division, forcing the exit of veteran concert chief Jay Marciano.
Marciano, a respected veteran who had worked for House of Blues and its predecessor, Universal Concerts, for nearly two decades, is the second key executive departing the firm. Senior talent buyer Melissa Miller announced her resignation last week.
The privately held firm has been engaged in an uphill against concert promotion giant Clear Channel Entertainment and other rivals. Competitors say the firm has been hampered by the withdrawal in 2000 of a planned stock offering that would have financed expansion.
Marciano’s former lieutenants, Adam Friedman, Alex Hodges and John Van Zeebroeck, will report to House of Blues Chief Executive Greg Trojan, the company said.
