Sony Executive Given Expanded Duties

Geoffrey Ammer, president of marketing for Sony Corp.’s Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, has been given expanded responsibilities for the studio’s international marketing, publicity and promotions divisions.
As worldwide marketing president, Ammer will continue to report to Sony Pictures Entertainment Vice Chairman Jeff Blake.
Since joining Sony in September 2001, Ammer has led the marketing team that helped open a number of major hits, including “Spider-Man,” “Men in Black II,” “XXX,” “Mr. Deeds” and “Maid in Manhattan.” He previously held top marketing and publicity jobs at Revolution Studios, Walt Disney Co. and 20th Century Fox.
