Chris Nooney and Randy Meru, Newbury Park: Combined to score 54 points in a 75-65 Southern Section Division III-AA wild-card victory over Culver City.
Matt Mosko, Calabasas Viewpoint: Scored 35 points and had 12 rebounds in a 65-50 Division IV-A first-round victory over Chino Hills Boys Republic.
Robson Dufau and Sean Cunningham, L.A. Daniel Murphy: Secured the 200th victory for Coach Andrew Hunter by scoring 21 and 18 points, respectively, in a 59-51 Division IV-AA playoff decision over San Pedro Mary Star of the Sea.
Marques Williams, Cerritos Gahr: Made two free throws with four-tenths of a second remaining to lift the Gladiators to a 53-52 Division II-A wild-card victory over La Habra Sonora.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Scot Simpson, Cerritos Valley Christian: Scored two goals and assisted on another in a 4-1 Division V wild-card victory over Westlake Village Oaks Christian.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Lety Mota, Pico Rivera El Rancho: Led the Dons to their first-ever playoff victory by scoring three goals and assisting on another in a 5-1 Division IV wild-card victory over Montebello Schurr.
Yareth Vargas, Garden Grove Santiago: Scored two goals in a 3-0 Division V wild-card victory over Downey Warren.
