Police Seek Homeless Man in Smart Abduction

Police investigating the abduction of Elizabeth Smart from her Salt Lake City bedroom in June were hunting for a homeless man identified by her sister as resembling the kidnapper.
The man was identified by police as Brian David Mitchell.
Her 9-year-old sister, Mary Katherine, saw the abduction while pretending to be asleep.
