Girl, 17, Hospitalized After Being Shot in Head

A 17-year-old girl was shot in the head as she played basketball and another woman was wounded in South Los Angeles Wednesday evening.
The teenager was struck by a stray bullet when someone in a car fired at another car at 6:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Halldale Avenue.
The girl, whose name was not released, was hospitalized in critical condition. A woman riding in the targeted car was wounded in the arm and leg.
Police said the shooting appeared to be gang-related. They are searching for three people in a newer model, gold Chevrolet.
