Heavily armed men opened fire on the farming village of Poblacion in the Philippines, torching houses and killing at least 14 people, officials said.
Three others were wounded and three were missing after at least five houses were machine-gunned, hit with grenades and burned, a military spokesman said. Officials suspected the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, but it denied involvement.
Meanwhile, Mujib Susukan, a top figure in the Muslim extremist group Abu Sayyaf, reportedly died of wounds suffered Tuesday in a government assault.
