A Long Beach man has been arrested on suspicion of robbing a Simi Valley fast-food restaurant.
Steve Rocky Nicklas, 35, was apprehended by Simi Valley police at a local Holiday Inn Express shortly after the robbery, which occurred at a Jack in the Box on Los Angeles Avenue about 6:15 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses said Nicklas, armed with a handgun, ordered patrons to the ground and demanded an undisclosed amount of money from two 18-year-old cashiers.
He then fled to a waiting van, which was spotted by officers at the Holiday Inn on Erringer Road, authorities said.
Police surrounded the hotel and Nicklas came out of a room. He was arrested on robbery charges after being identified by witnesses, police said.
