World War II Support

Contrary to Richard Showstack’s Jan. 31 letter regarding our entry into World War II, the liberals, progressives, leftists and Democrats were adamant that we intervene. Opposition was led by the so-called America Firsters, led by the radical right wing.

It was only after the bombing of Pearl Harbor that we were free to enter the war. In the meantime, we provided what help we could through the Lend-Lease program.
