Savings Can Be Found in High-Mileage Cars

If people are really concerned about the amount they spend on their cars, they can save almost all of the $621 average increase in fees and taxes by buying a car that gets 25 miles per gallon instead of 15 mpg. Based on 12,000 miles per year and gas at $1.60, the savings are $512.
