Hotels.com’s Profit Triples as Sales Rise

Hotels.com, a seller of discounted hotel rooms on the Internet, said fourth-quarter profit more than tripled as more customers turned to the Web to book reservations.
Net income jumped to $17.7 million, or 30 cents a share, from $4.81 million, or 8 cents, a year earlier. Sales surged 92% to $272.6 million.
Shares of the Dallas-based company surged $4.42 to $43.02 on Nasdaq.
