Man Gets Prison Term for 9/11 Fraud Scheme

A New York man who used the Sept. 11 attacks to solicit donations to a bogus charity for the families of slain police officers was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison.
Justin White, 59, of Queens, was sentenced for cheating scores of businesses and individuals out of funds meant for widows and children. U.S. District Judge Kevin Duffy also ordered White to make restitution in the amount of $504,869.
White pleaded guilty to conspiracy and mail fraud.
