MWD Issues Funds for Plant Restoration

The Altadena Foothills Conservancy received $15,000 Monday from the Metropolitan Water District’s Community Partnering Program to help restore native plants in Millard Canyon.
The conservancy will use the money in part to develop a plan for restoring about a mile of Millard Canyon Creek and possibly other streams in the Arroyo Seco watershed.
Nancy Steele, the conservancy’s president, said the planned project would improve stream flows and boost the region’s groundwater supplies.
