A statewide poll suggested the race for the Democratic nomination for governor is a tossup between Andrew Cuomo and H. Carl McCall.
Cuomo, elder son of former Gov. Mario M. Cuomo and a former federal Housing and Urban Development secretary, was the choice of 42% of likely voters, according to the Zogby International telephone poll of 326 Democrats.
McCall, the state comptroller, was the pick of 38%. The poll was conducted March 4 to 6 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.5 percentage points.
