2 Arrested in Hate Crime Against Black Policeman

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of leaving a burning wooden cross on the front lawn of a black police officer.
Jayne Marie Sharp, 42, of Lompoc and family friend Charles Thomas Matkin, 38, of Santa Maria were arrested Thursday for investigation of threatening a police officer, committing a hate crime, terrorism of a property owner and conspiracy. Sharp also was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a narcotic.
