‘Suits Me’ Added in ’36

Re: Kathleen Foley’s review of Musical Theatre West’s production of “Show Boat” (“ ‘Show Boat’ Takes a Fascinating Look Back,” July 16).
Foley states this is the version as first performed in 1927. She then discusses the wonderful song “Ah Still Suits Me.”
But this superb song was not in the original 1927 stage production. It was added for the wonderful 1936 movie production and performed superbly by Paul Robeson and Hattie McDaniel in the film.
