A car found partially submerged in a river in Tulare County held a body that may be that of a Pasadena woman missing since July 1, police said.
On Thursday, Pasadena investigators traveled to the San Joaquin Valley county, one day after a farm worker found the 1999 Nissan Maxima in the Tule River. The car belongs to Elizabeth Whiting, 66, who failed to show up for a family gathering at Shaver Lake in Fresno County, said Pasadena police spokeswoman Janet Pope.
Whiting, who was prone to blackouts, may have lost control of her car on California 99, Pope said.
