Mortgage Rates Edge Down This Week

The average rate on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages fell to 6.49% this week, down from 6.54% a week ago and the lowest since November, mortgage firm Freddie Mac said.
The average interest rate on 15-year mortgages, a popular option for refinancing, dipped to 5.93% this week from 6% the week before, and now is the lowest ever recorded.
On one-year adjustable-rate mortgages, lenders were asking an average initial rate of 4.50%, down from 4.66% a week ago.
