Rates on 30-, 15-Year Mortgages Fall

The average interest rate on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages fell to 6.54% this week, mortgage company Freddie Mac reported, down from 6.57% the previous week.
The average interest rate on 15-year mortgages, a popular option for refinancing, dipped to 6%, down from 6.03% the week before. On one-year adjustable-rate mortgages, lenders were asking an average initial rate of 4.66%, up from 4.58% the previous week.
