New Charges Expected in Beating Death of Man

Prosecutors said they will file additional charges later this week after an Oxnard man died of injuries inflicted in a beating.
Kelly David Doria, 40, died Monday afternoon, a week after he was beaten with a baseball bat in the 2100 block of Hemlock Street.
Michael Cody Russell of Oxnard was arrested shortly after the July 1 attack on suspicion of attempted murder. He remained in Ventura County Jail on Tuesday, in lieu of $1-million bail.
Senior Deputy Dist. Atty. Miles Weiss said the new charges will be filed at a hearing Friday.
