Two fireworks technicians continued to recover Tuesday from burns suffered at a Fourth of July show in Calabasas, authorities said.
David McGregor and Chester Sharp of Rialto-based Pyro Spectaculars were injured when a pyrotechnic device exploded at about eye level near the end of the city-sponsored show, authorities said.
“It appeared that one of the displays went off prematurely,” said Donald Zimring, deputy superintendent of the Las Virgenes Unified School District, who attended the show at Calabasas High.
McGregor remains in fair condition at UCLA Medical Center. Sharp was treated at West Hills Hospital and released.
