Re “Pledge of Allegiance Violates Constitution, Court Declares,” June 27: President Bush stated that God gave us our freedoms. Whatever happened to the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights? We thought these documents were written by our forefathers and gave us our freedoms, including the freedom of religion to worship or not worship as we choose. Are we to assume that true Americans are true believers and all others are somewhat less?
