* Long Beach Millikan was only two games over .500 going into the first round, but Brittney Dove scored 20 points in a 52-50 victory against Canyon Springs (21-6) in Division I-AA.
* Schurr was 11-14 going into its game against Moreno Valley, which was 17-10, but Tiffany Fasada scored 19 points in a 62-58 upset.
CLUTCH
* Sylmar outscored Palisades, 22-9, in the fourth quarter as Brittany Morris scored eight of her 14 points in that span in a 55-46 City Section first-round victory.
* Susan Grundy scored from eight feet with two seconds remaining to give San Dimas a 49-48 second-round victory against Pasadena Blair in Division III-A.
* Tisha Waki’s two free throws with 3.1 seconds left gave Covina Charter Oak a 47-45 first-round victory against El Monte Arroyo in Division II-A.
MILESTONES
* Lake Arrowhead Rim of the World’s Cassandra Markovich and Stephanie Hanifan reached 1,000 points in their careers in a 74-63 second-round victory over Garden Grove Pacifica.
NUMBERS
* Long Beach Poly forced 41 turnovers in its 75-24 victory against Peninsula.
* Santa Fe Springs St. Paul defeated Loma Linda, 64-34, and set a school record with 21 victories.
