In girls’ basketball:
Saugus 52, Newhall Hart 48--Jessi Loring scored 16 points, including a layup with six seconds left to seal the victory, and Sheridan Arredondo had 12 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots for host Saugus (21-4, 8-1), which tied a school record for victories and can clinch a share of the Foothill League championship with a victory on Thursday at Burbank.
Ashlee Trebilcock scored 20 points and Amanda Patton had 12 for No. 10 Hart (21-4, 8-1), which defeated Saugus, 43-32, on Jan. 22 and needs a victory Thursday at Canyon County Canyon to claim a share of the league title.
