Shawntinice Polk became the first Arizona player to get a double-double in five consecutive games, finishing with 23 points and 11 rebounds Sunday as the No. 21 Wildcats (4-1) beat Illinois, 75-73, in the final of the Fiesta Bowl Classic at Tucson. Tiffane Guthrie scored a 30 points for the Illini (5-1).

Alana Beard scored 19 of her 29 points in the second half at Durham, N.C., to help No. 1 Duke (7-0) beat Saint Joseph’s, 82-48, in the championship game of the Duke Basketball Classic.... Lindsay Whalen scored 25 points to lead No. 12 Minnesota to its seventh consecutive win, a 92-68 victory over Harvard at Boston.... Christi Thomas scored 26 points for No. 14 Georgia (4-2), which delivered win No. 650 to Coach Andy Landers, a 99-56 victory over Oakland, Mich., at Athens, Ga.... No. 16 North Carolina (6-1) took control of the game by outscoring Old Dominion, 34-12, over the final 15 minutes of the first half at Chapel Hill, N.C., and won, 90-54.
