Glendale High football player Jason Chamberlin remains in fair condition at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and is expected to stay through the weekend after collapsing in practice on Wednesday.
Hospital spokesman Steve Rutledge said there is no timetable for the release of Chamberlin, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound sophomore offensive lineman. The 14-year-old continues to suffer from dehydration and symptoms related to heatstroke.
“His vital signs are stable,” Rutledge said. “If they tend to move toward not being stable, he may be moved to serious.”
Chamberlin collapsed near the end of a practice early Wednesday and was rushed to Glendale Memorial Hospital. He was transferred to Childrens Hospital in critical condition but has improved steadily since then.
