The wreckage of a U.S. helicopter was found on a hillside in South Korea, along with the bodies of two Army pilots, a day after the craft went missing on a training flight, military officials said.
The officials said the AH-64A Apache slammed into the hillside above a car tunnel about 13 miles south of Camp Page, an American base at Chunchon. All Apache copters in South Korea were grounded pending an investigation.
The pilots were identified as 1st Lt. Dustin Shannon, 23, of Vassar, Mich., and Chief Warrant Officer James Wallenburg, 40, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
