$20,000 in Jewelry Taken From Salesman

The hunt is on for a team of sophisticated robbers who stole thousands of dollars worth of precious stones from a New York jewelry salesman.
The victim, whose name was not released, parked in a downtown garage Thursday to make a sales call on a jewelry store and was unloading his merchandise when a white van pulled in behind him.
The driver’s side sliding door popped open and a man in a baseball cap grabbed the bag, dragging the salesman 30 feet before he let go of the case.
The value of the goods was at least $20,000, police said.
“There is no doubt this was a planned attack,” said Police Sgt. Steve Clark. “They knew exactly who this guy was.”
