The New York Stock Exchange said Friday that it would delay the opening of its trading session Sept. 11 to observe the one-year anniversary of the attacks on New York and the Pentagon.
The NYSE will begin its trading day at 11 a.m. EDT instead of 9:30 a.m., choosing to remain closed for business while memorial services are held in New York and around the nation.
A spokesman for the Nasdaq Stock Market said it had not decided on its final plans for Sept. 11.
An American Stock Exchange spokeswoman said the exchange was working on its plans.
