An 11-year-old Sylmar girl was killed and three others in the same car injured early Thursday near Lancaster when a 15-year-old unlicensed driver crashed into parked cars, authorities said,
The crash occurred about 3 a.m. on 180th Street East, just south of Avenue O, California Highway Patrol Lt. Andria Witmer said. The female driver lost control of the vehicle and ran a stop sign before hitting the parked vehicles, authorities said.
The 11-year-old girl died at the scene, Witmer said. Authorities did not release her name pending notification of family.
Two other passengers--another 11-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man--were flown to local hospitals, where they were all listed in critical condition, Witmer said.
Investigators said the driver of the 1999 Mazda was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills with moderate injuries.
