U.S. Faces Japan for University Title

The USA Baseball National Team advanced to the first FISU World University Baseball Championship game with a 2-1 victory over Japan on Saturday in Messina, Italy. The Americans (5-1) will face Cuba (6-0), a 2-0 winner Saturday over Chinese Taipei, in today’s championship game.
Brad Sullivan allowed one unearned run and five hits in seven innings to improve to 7-0 on the summer. Chad Cordero (Cal State Fullerton) pitched the final two innings for his second save.
