Toddler Survives Fall Onto Highway

A 2-year-old girl fell from her parents’ car onto a busy motorway in southern France and survived with just scratches after a truck braked and blocked the road to stop her from being run over, Germany’s Bild newspaper reported.

The girl, from Mainz, Germany, freed herself from her car seat and pulled the door handle, plunging from the vehicle, then going 68 mph on the road between Avignon and Lyon. “It was a horrible sight. The little body falling onto the road, bouncing and then rolling over again and again,” said truck driver Nicolas Laberthonniere, whose quick action saved the girl.
