Lost Weapons, Laptops Signal Deep Problems

Re “Weapons, Laptops Lost at Justice Dept.,” Aug. 6: At least 400 laptop computers and 775 weapons “lost” by the Justice Department. These are the people who are guarding the gates to protect us from the enemy. And millions of dollars stolen from government by using credit cards. First it was the civilian government employees and now it is the military that is doing its thing with the plastic card.
I read and reread your article and did not find one word that stated exactly how the Justice Department was going to catch the felons. I want to see names. I want to see them convicted and sent to high-security federal prisons, not country clubs like the one at Lompoc. I want to see recovery of items and funds lost.
I can’t believe that the Justice Department cannot keep thieves from taking computers and guns out its front door. Seems that the gate is open, and maybe the gates to our nation are vulnerable as well.
