Wow! I just finished reading “Legislator Votes Her Passion, Not Her Party Line” (Aug. 5), the story on Assemblywoman Jackie Goldberg. The California Assn. of Realtors is more important than the welfare of the people of California? Amazing! The Realtors lobbied against saving lives--or a life--because a bill would have required a home seller to have a safety device installed around a pool prior to sale. Just how much is a life worth? We need to ban all lobbyists.

Goldberg’s torrent of tears is an insult to rational, thoughtful and mature women who argue issues on their merits. Goldberg pushes her agenda with irrational outbursts. Her falsely named “progressive social agenda” is a throwback to the Stalinist command and control society that destroyed the economy of the former USSR and Eastern Europe.
