Ganesha’s Efevberha Signs With UC Irvine

Matt Efevberha, a 6-foot-4 guard from Ganesha, has signed to play basketball at UC Irvine.
Efevberha averaged 25.1 points and 9.3 rebounds and helped Ganesha to a 24-5 record, the Valley Vista League title and an appearance in the Southern Section Division III-A quarterfinals.

Baseball--A story Thursday in Sports included the wrong college for Laguna Beach catcher Ian Baumer, who has signed to play at San Jose State.
Other commitments:
* Tarika Campbell, a 5-8 guard from Long Beach Wilson, has signed with Oregon State. Campbell sat out last season after tearing a knee ligament in a basketball tournament during the summer of 2001.
* Amy Dixon, a 6-5 outside and middle hitter from San Dimas, has signed to play volleyball at Cal State Fullerton next season.
* Greg Gaudino, a 6-6 outside hitter from La Canada, has signed to play volleyball at USC. Gaudino, co-most valuable player of the Rio Hondo League, will join Derek Otte, a 6-5 opposite hitter from Loyola, who signed in December.
* Ian Elliott of Santa Ana Foothill has committed to playing water polo at USC. Elliott, a goalkeeper, was the Century League’s MVP this season.
* Catcher Ian Baumer of Laguna Beach has signed to play baseball at San Diego State.
