Pregnant Woman Shot to Death, Man Wounded

A pregnant woman was shot to death and a man was wounded in Pomona Saturday, police said.
The attack happened about 1:45 a.m. in the 1400 block of Cantara Street near San Bernardino Avenue, Lt. Darrell Cummings said. Teresa Lawless, 21, who was about four months pregnant, died at the scene, Cummings said.
Jerry Lewis, 21, was hospitalized in stable condition. Lawless and Lewis were with friends when at least one gunman approached and opened fire, Cummings said.
Police said they have no description of the shooter.
It was the second killing of a pregnant woman in Pomona since July 17, when 18-year-old Maria Maya, also four months pregnant, was killed during a drive-by shooting, Sgt. Paul Capraro said.
