City Attorney Studies Airplane Noise Options
- Share via
City Atty. Philip Kohn has begun researching what the city can do to combat noise from planes that fly over coastal beaches carrying advertising banners. The practice has drawn increasing criticism from residents in the flight paths.
In a meeting of the Orange County Coastal Coalition in Newport Beach recently, Laguna Beach Councilwoman Toni Iseman raised the issue and sought the support of “other coastal cities that are willing to step up to the plate.”
Iseman said representatives of Newport Beach and San Clemente were receptive, and though no official action was taken, she asked Kohn to look into the cities’ options.
Kohn said a report for the City Council will be ready in a few days.
