Spellbound by Krivine

If the L.A. Dodgers can make trades, why can’t the L.A. Philharmonic? I would like the orchestra hierarchy to consider the trade of Esa-Pekka Salonen for Emmanuel Krivine, who just finished conducting at the Hollywood Bowl.
Being a musician, I have heard Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade” performed many times by different orchestras and conductors, but never have I heard such a thrilling performance by orchestra and conductor as July 12 at the Bowl. Your reviewer, Daniel Cariaga, called it magical, but I don’t know enough superlatives to describe the conducting of Krivine. The audience sat as if spellbound by theperformance.
I do understand that Krivine will be returning in November for another engagement, but I wish that he could be here permanently.
