1 Killed, 1 Hurt in Freeway Accident

A pickup driven by a man who authorities believe was drunk drifted off the eastbound 126 Freeway near Briggs Road, killing a woman and injuring a man.
The victims, who had been traveling in separate vehicles, were pulled over onto the shoulder when the accident occurred.
The woman was standing outside her BMW when a red Nissan truck hit her and her car. The man was trapped between the BMW and the Mustang in which he was riding.
The woman was pronounced dead at Ventura County Medical Center, where the man was still hospitalized Thursday night.
The driver of the pickup was not injured, and the incident remains under investigation.
Authorities did not disclose the names of anyone involved.
