Fake Newspaper Posters Seized at Bus Shelters
- Share via
Posters showing a fake front page of the San Francisco Chronicle with improper headlines and pictures have appeared in bus shelters and newspaper vending machines.
The fake posters displayed a story about Mayor Willie Brown attacking the homeless, with an obscene banner headline. Chronicle vending machines were plastered with a second poster showing the paper’s “Little Man,” used for rating movies and other events, snoozing alongside a sleeping homeless man and his shopping cart.
The posters, mostly on shelters in the South of Market area, were removed this week by workers from Infinity Outdoor Advertising, which handles bus shelter advertising.
