Walt Disney Co.--The roles of two Walt Disney Co. executives were unclear in a story in Friday’s Business section. Tom Fitzgerald has been promoted to senior creative executive at Disney’s Imagineering division. Marty Sklar, vice chairman of Imagineering, continues to oversee the division’s creative team.
The move is intended to give Sklar more time to focus on upcoming theme park projects and plan for the 50th anniversary at Disneyland, a Disney spokeswoman said. Disney is said to be grooming Fitzgerald, 44, as a possible successor to Sklar. Sklar, a 40-year Disney veteran, will continue to oversee the team that designs Disney’s attractions and hotels.
