Twenty-one oil paintings created by plein-air artists who combed beaches, bluffs and Laguna Canyon for inspiration will be on view in the exhibition “Summertime in Laguna Beach: Selections From the Irvine Museum” at the Laguna Art Museum. While Laguna Beach was the established colony for resident artists such as Anna Hills, Edgar Payne and William Wendt, the Irvine Museum shares its collection of these artists’ and others’ works. Irvine Museum director Jean Stern curates the show. The Irvine Museum is dedicated to the preservation and display of California art from 1890 to about 1930.* “Summertime in Laguna Beach: Selections From the Irvine Museum,” Laguna Art Museum, 307 Cliff Drive, Laguna Beach. Open daily, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., including Monday holidays. $4 to $5. Free Tuesdays. Ends Oct. 7. (949) 494-8971.
