Miramax Is Clear to Seek Claims Against Scotia
- Share via
A California state court has cleared the way for Miramax Film Corp. to pursue financial claims against German film distributor Scotia International.
In April, Miramax sought to collect millions of dollars in license fees and royalties from Scotia International. Last week, the court rejected Scotia’s request to block the claims. Scotia officials could not be reached for comment.
Separately, the company is suing Miramax, saying the studio overpriced its licenses to distribute its films in Germany, among other allegations. Miramax says the lawsuit is spurious.
