Dental Records to Be Used to Identify Body

Los Angeles County coroner’s officials said Friday that they will rely on dental records to identify a body found in the Antelope Valley desert.
Hikers walking their dog found the body about 6 p.m. Thursday in an open field at 3rd Street East and Technology Drive in Palmdale. It may be several days before the identity can be determined, a coroner’s spokesman said.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives said the body may be that of an 82-year-old man who was reported missing in May. If so, they suspect the man, who had Alzheimer’s disease, wandered into the desert and died, officials said.
