From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Led by the Trust for Public Lands and the Morro Bay National Estuary Program/Bay Foundation, a group of conservation agencies has purchased a one-year option to buy the 580-acre Hollister Ranch, which is worth up to $6 million and is home to many protected species.
The property runs from the lower flanks of Hollister Peak through the flood plains of Chorro Creek and across California 1 near the San Luis Sportsmen’s Shooting Range.
The ranch is owned by Missouri millionaire John Q. Hammons.
